Plans to improve Hampton Hill high street will be revealed next week as Richmond Council prepares to invest £1.8m in the town.

A consultation has been launched for residents and busineses, with funding coming from the council's Uplift programme and the Greater London Authority.

Improvements are expected to include new road crossing, improved cycle routes and a 'new useable community space' near the main junction.

Councillor Pamela Fleming, cabinet member for environment, said: "As we move closer to bringing the next phase of Village Planning to Hampton Hill next January – what better way to show the power of resident feedback and demonstrate that we have listened to what residents want.

"We hope the works will start early in 2016."
