Nightclubs have fallen out of favour in Richmond, in line with a national decline in clubbing, according to a recent survey.

Young adults are rejecting traditional late night venues, according to a survey conducted by Richmond, American International University in London, postgraduate student Sofia Farouk, whose results mirror national trends.

Three quarters of the 75 adults aged between 18 and 35 surveyed said they visit Richmond’s late night night venues less often than in previous years.

The findings correlate with a study by the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers, which found that more than half of the nation’s nightclubs had closed in the past 10 years.
