The wait was over for thousands of anxious people this morning with the release of 2015’s GCSE results.

Students and teachers at Greycourt School had plenty to celebrate as 78 per cent of all pupils received five A* to C passes including English and maths and more than half received 10 or more passes.

Amelia Sadat achieved an impressive 11 A*s, two As, an A in AS Environmental Studies and an A in Additional Maths level three.

Hampton Court House students also had plenty to jump in the air about, as the school recorded a 92 per cent A* to C pass rate with 19.6 per cent A* grades.

Gemma Fox and Mehreen Amber Siddiqi

Waldegrave School pupils achieved a record 61 per cent A to A* grades, and friends Mehreen Amber Siddiqi and Gemma Fox both said they had performed better than expected.

Ms Fox will remain at the school’s sixth form and achieved seven A*s and two A grades, while Ms Siddiqi was delighted with her own A* grade and will go on to college. Ms Siddiqi said: "I expected more Ds and Cs. I've never got an A* before!"

Radnor School, which opened four years ago, had its second cohort of GCSE students defy all expectations with a phenomenal A* to C pass rate of 95.1 per cent and 29.1 per cent A* grades.

Veronika Lachina, who achieved 10 A*s, said: "These results are better that I hoped for and I’m so pleased to achieve all A*s, my mum is so happy."

Hampton School also broke its own records with 66 per cent of grades at A*, up from 55 per cent in 2014.

Headmaster Kevin Knibbs said: "This is a truly stellar set of results and our talented fifth year boys and their dedicated teachers deserve the highest praise for setting a host of new school GCSE records.

"These talented young men can be really proud of themselves."

Christ's School pupils achieved a 72 per cent A* to C pass rate, with 65 per cent of pupils attaining five A* to C grades including English and maths.

Issy Urquhart, who achieved 11 A*s, said: "I’m delighted that all of my hard work had paid off."

Every single Lady Eleanor Holles School’s student achieved an A* to C pass, with 67.1 per cent A* grades, down slightly from last year’s 73.3 per cent.

Headmistress Heather Hanbury said, "With almost 96 per cent of the grades at A* or A, and over a third of the girls achieving 9 or 10 A*s we have much to celebrate."

St Catherine’s School achieved a 98 per cent A* to C pass rate, and head teacher Sister Paula Thomas said: "I am delighted with these excellent results, 84% of grades being A* to B and one third of our girls achieved eight or more A* and As.

"They and their teachers have certainly reaped the just reward for all their hard work and dedication. I am very proud of them."

Teddington School’s Stanley Colcough said he was delighted with his A*, A and B grades and will go on to study Physics, English literature and art next year.
