A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a gun was fired at police officers outside McDonalds in Hanworth’s Twickenham Road last night.
Police say the arrest came after two special police officers attempted to speak with two teenage boys after seeing them acting suspiciously near the fast food restaurant at about 10.35pm.
It is alleged three rounds of a firearm were fired in the direction of an officer.
The officer sustained minor injuries as he arrested a suspect, a 15-year-old, but these were not caused by the firearm.
A firearm, at this stage believed to be an air weapon, was recovered and is awaiting forensic examination.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken to a west London police station but enquiries continue to trace the second boy.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
