A spreading fence fire led to police stumbling upon a neighbouring cannabis factory.
Officers were called to a property in Rydens Grove, Hersham, just before 6pm on Sunday, May 17, after a nearby fire spread.
A 30-year-old man from Twickenham was arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis. He has since been bailed until July 3.
Surrey Fire and Rescue service confirmed one fire engine was called to a garage fire, which was put out in 45 minutes.
Two years ago, in June, a fire destroyed a flat above Glitzy Nails, Walton, and adjoining premises. Police investigating found about 40 to 50 cannabis plants in an outbuilding, later arresting six people on suspicion of cultivating a class B drug.
