A free picnic with a brass band and the unveiling of a sun dial marking the borough’s 50th anniversary will be held in Radnor Gardens next month.

The event on May 17 has been organised by Strawberry Hill Residents Association with funding from Richmond Council’s Civic Pride Community Award.

The fund has allocated a total of £12,457 to community-spirited organisations and individuals including Barn Elms Sports Trust for improvements to disabled access for its athletics track and Combination Dance, which is organising a dance project inspired by the First World War.
