Artwork designed to stimulate memory in people living with dementia will be introduced in Teddington Memorial Hospital’s patient areas.

Among the installations will be a memory wall featuring vintage photographs of celebrities designed to evoke memories of days gone by.

The £15,000 scheme, created by Orleans House Gallery and commissioned by Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare Trust, will also see a sculpture installed as a landmark to help patients with dementia find their way around the hospital.

Councillor Meena Bond, cabinet member for culture, said: "The council has received positive feedback from patients, their families and carers.

"They all agree that this project is having an extremely positive effect and long may it continue."
