Twickenham MP Vince Cable's annual Christmas card competition was won by a Trafalgar Junior School student last week.

Among hundreds of entries, Luca de Mello's interpretation of the London skyline and came out on top, as Dr Cable presented the best 14 with prizes at his constituency office.

The children were awarded with House of Commons teddy bears at the winners' event on December 8.

Dr Cable said: "I've been running this competition for thirteen years and every year the choice becomes more difficult.

"The sheer imagination and creativity which goes into designing and drawing these cards is really impressive and I'd like to thank all those children who sent in entries."

Luca's father, Daniel, won the competition to design his local MP's Chrstimas card 30 years ago.

The winning design will be sent out to more than 45,000 households across the constituency.

Runners-up included Alexandra Andrews, from Hampton Wick Infants and Nursery School, Faye Blackshaw, from St Mary’s and St Peter’s School, Louie Lovelock, from Heathfield Nursery and Infants School and Francesca Pool, of Sacred Heart School.

They will have their designs displayed on the back of the card.
