A schoolboy hit by a bus in Twickenham on Friday was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.

The boy, believed to be 14, was knocked down in Cross Deep just before 2pm, and was treated at the scene and taken to West Middlesex Hospital.

Anthony Concannon, who witnessed the incident, said he believed the boy’s left leg may have been run over by the bus.

He said: “The first responder was on scene within three minutes and an ambulance within 10.

"It was a great response by the emergency services."

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: !We were called at 1.55pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a bus at Cross Deep, Twickenham.

“We sent two ambulance crews to the scene. We treated a boy reported to be 14. He was taken to West Middlesex Hospital.”
