Christmas party goers are urged to leave their cars at home and to stay back from the side of the River Thames this festive season.

Richmond Business Awards winner Parker Car Service have sponsored this year's Think! campaign, which has the motto don't drink and drive: you drink - we drive.

Throughout the campaign drive, which is in its 50th year, Parker Cars will help drivers become reunited with their vehicles the morning after by taking them back for half price.

Party goers are also urged to be careful if enjoying a tipple in a venue alongside the River Thames, with Teddington RNLI urging people to respect the water.

Tim James, RNLI Teddington helmsman, said: "The river is very cold, so don't get in it and if you do see someone fall in, don't jump in after them.

"There are throw bags in all the pubs and restaurants along the river edge and all the staff are trained. Call them and then call 999 and ask for London Coastguard."
