Four schoolgirls put their three months of Duke of Edinburgh training into practice with Teddington RNLI.
Isobel Kavanagh, Catrin Ody, Lily Roberts and Lucie Bozzard-Hill performed a man overboard exercise and used their search and rescue and precision boat handling techniques under testing conditions near Teddington Lock on Sunday, December 7.
The girls, all 14 and from Strawberry Hill, were supported by helmsmen from the Ferry Road lifeboat station.
Helmsman James Kavanagh said: "At Teddington RNLI we are always delighted to see young people coming forward to volunteer.
"It helps build awareness of water safety in the youth community and supports our RNLI campaign called Respect the Water."
