A group of primary school students are now published authors thanks to Richmond Park Academy (RPA).

Year 5 pupils from East Sheen Primary School created the Secrets Behind the Creatures, a collection of poems and illustrations, and RPA Young Publishers chose to produce the collection after the success of their last published book.

The anthology was written in an hour at the end of a workshop run by the RPA Young Publishers team and used craft, art, drama and free-writing to get the creativity flowing.

Kyrill Potapov, English teacher at RPA, said: "The RPA young publishers team are a remarkable group of young people.

"They were fantastic ambassadors for Richmond Park Academy and both our year 9s and East Sheen’s year 5s got a tremendous amount from the workshop.

"This has been a tremendous collaborative project and I could not be prouder."

A special event to launch the book was held on Wednesday, December 3, and the anthology is available to buy at East Sheen Primary, RPA and at East Sheen booksellers for £2.99.
