A schoolboy has seen his photographs from the Royal Parks chosen for the new Richmond Park calendar.

Jack Barton from Wallington became interested in wildlife photography after seeing the autumn stag rut in Richmond Park.

The 17-year-old has already won awards for his photographs and hopes to pursue a career in wildlife photojournalism.

He said: "Richmond Park is somewhere that I can go to enjoy myself and relax. The park is such a beautiful, natural and bio-diverse place: rare to find in a city like London.

"It's home to hundreds of important and threatened species such as the stag beetle and skylark, which is why it is so important we conserve it for future generations."

Jack’s photographs appear in May on the Richmond Park calendar 2015.

The calendar has been published by conservation charity Friends of Richmond Park, which supports young wildlife photographers.

The calendar is on sale at the visitor centre by Pembroke Lodge, open 11am to 3pm daily, and Holly Lodge reception from 9am to 4pm from Monday to Friday.
