Richmond Theatre celebrated its 115th birthday with a drinks reception to toast the special occasion.

The milestone was marked with the cutting of a cake donated by Richmond’s Hummingbird Bakery.

General manager Kate Wrightson paid tribute to 115 years of success at the event on Thursday, September 18, which was attended by staff and volunteers past and present.

Ms Wrightson said: “It’s a fantastic milestone for the theatre to reach and shows what a historically important venue we have the privilege to be working in.

“We are always looking ahead at Richmond Theatre and we want to ensure the architectural legacy Frederic Mouflet and Frank Matcham have left here can continue to be enjoyed by future generations of theatregoers.”
