World-class musicians come to East Sheen for a concert in aid of the MAE Foundation.

The evening of Italian, Spanish and South American music will raise funds for the charity that works to provide musical instruments and music teaching to thousands of children in refugee camps along the Thai border with Burma.

The concert, titled Guitars Etcetera, features John Williams, young guitarists Tom Ellis and Laura Snowden, whom Williams believes are emerging as the leaders of a new generation of performers, and several leading London musicians.

Bafta winning film and TV composer Richard Harvey, renowned cellist Anthony Pleeth and virtuoso mandolin player Graham Preskett will also take to the stage.

So far, the MAE Foundation has donated more than 2,000 ukuleles, guitars and penny whistles to deprived children and it is hoped the concert at Christ Church will help add more to this total.
