A former Orleans Park School pupil and father was killed in a motorcycle accident in Feltham last week.

Martin Pottle, 26, of Hounslow Road in Hanworth, died in the fatal collision in Harlington Road West shortly after 3am on Friday, September 5.

Police and the London Ambulance Service attended and Mr Pottle was pronounced dead at the scene, despite members of the public rushing to his aid.

It is not thought any other vehicle was involved in the accident and police have made no arrests.

Friends have set up an In Loving Memory of Martin Pottle page on Facebook, which has gathered hundreds of comments and tributes from more than 240 people.

Sarah Adams said: "I can't believe this has happened to such a lovely young man my heart goes out to all his family you will be so sadly missed xx".

In April 2012, Mr Pottle was sentenced to 14 months in prison for religiously-aggravated criminal damage and violent disorder after an English Defence League (EDL) rally in Kingston.

He was part of a gang of hooded men who attacked Kingston Mosque with sticks and bottles, laid bacon on a car and in the building and urinated in the mosque’s foyer on November 21, 2010.

Mr Pottle also served six months in prison for taking part in a street brawl between Brentford FC and Leyton Orient FC hooligans at Liverpool Street station on May 8, 2010.

He attended Orleans Park School in Twickenham between 1999 and 2004.

A spokesman for the school said: "All of our staff who remember Martin do so with much fondness.

"He was a thoughtful and helpful young man who was full of character and had a real passion for cooking - he particularly enjoyed his food technology lessons."

Headteacher Elaine Ball added: "We are all saddened to hear this tragic news and would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Martin's family."

The Richmond and Twickenham Times visited his address on Thursday but his family were too distressed to talk to our reporter.

A postmortem examination was scheduled to take place on Thursday and police are appealing for witnesses to the accident.

Detective Sergeant Jeff Edwards, of the serious collision investigation unit, said: "I am grateful to those members of the public who went to the aid of Mr Pottle after the collision.

"I do need to hear from anyone who saw the collision, or the moments leading up to the incident in Harlington Road West."
