A cyclist who will ride more than 460km in Africa over 10 days is encouraging others to get on their bikes.

Sam Newman, 26, from Twickenham, is busy training for the Uganda cycle challenge 2015 in aid of African Revival.

The fundraising challenge, which runs from February 5 to 15, showcases the highlights of Uganda, with the route passing by Lake Victoria, the Source of the Nile, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls National Park.

Money raised will go to fund the work African Revival, based in Hampton Hill, do to support schools in Uganda and Zambia.

Mr Newman said: "I am taking part because I love to challenge myself physically and the fact I can help raise money for a great charity at the same time is great and an opportunity I couldn’t let pass by.

"This is an experience of a lifetime and an amazing way to help a great charity support an important cause, don’t get me wrong it will be challenging but the satisfaction, memories and experience you will get out of the trip will be tremendous."
