A convicted murderer will be sentenced tomorrow after she broke down in court when the verdict was read out.

Edyta Zawadzka, 28, was this morning found guilty at Isleworth Crown Court of murdering her flatmate Julia Anders in November last year.

Zawadzka, a mother-of-one, bludgeoned Ms Anders to death with a hammer then spent more than £5,500 with her bank cards.

She shrieked when the verdict was read out and was displayed signs of extreme distress, so the sentencing has been postponed until tomorrow.

Detective Inspector Donna Convery of the homicide and major crime command said: “Zawadzka had recently argued with [the victim] about money she believed was owed to her.

“She exacted brutal revenge and then stole anything of financial value from the victim.

“She deliberately misled friends and family by telling them that [the victim] was fine and had been in contact, painting herself as [her] close friend rather than her brutal murderer.”
