Drivers and pedestrians are doing a double take at a pedestrian crossing near a Hook roundabout.
A painted sign tells people crossing the road opposite the Ace Parade of shops they must ‘Look riht’, not ‘Look right’.
Transport for London is responsible for the A243 Hook Road, which leads to the Ace of Spades roundabout.
However, a spokesman said: “These works were carried out by Thames Water and we will be pushing them to rectify this mistake as soon as possible.”
Chessington resident Mike Hoare said: "They always say they don't like signs with writing, they want signs with symbols. Now we know why - they can't spell."
