A female police employee facing charges of stealing confiscated drugs from a police station has appeared in court.

Tracy O’Connor, 52, a property store officer, was accused of stealing small amounts of heroin, cocaine and cannabis from Kingston police station over a period of 10 months.

She is also accused of planning to sell them in partnership with her boyfriend.

Her partner Steven Shaw, a 53-year-old lorry driver, who she lives with in Rhodrons Avenue, Chessington, is accused possessing a stun gun, 746g of cannabis and 0.48g of heroin with intent to supply, all of which he denies.

Ms O’Connor appeared at South Western Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, December 10, for a committal to crown court on charges of stealing cocaine, heroin, cannabis and £500 from the Metropolitan Police, between December 15 last year and October 18, when she was arrested.

She is also accused of possessing the drugs with intent to supply and possession of a stun gun.

Ms O’Connor did not enter a plea and the case was adjourned until December 17, to allow time to arrange legal aid.

Mr Shaw had a curfew imposed on him, which stops him leaving the house between 11pm and 5am on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and was banned from contacting Ms O’Connor.

The case was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission on October 19, but was referred back to the Metropolitan Service’s professional standards department, which recommended bringing criminal charges.
