Zac Goldsmith and his sister Jemima visited Kingston Mosque on March 12, with former cricketer Imran Khan.
The prospective Parliamentary candidate for Richmond and north Kingston to discuss issues within the community.
Everything from the future of Kingston Hospital to school places came up.
Mr Goldsmith said: “I was able to reassure people that it [Kingston Hospital] would be safe under Conservatives. Others wanted to discuss international issues, from climate change to the war in Iraq.
“People wanted to know if I was opposed at the outset, which I was. I’d helped fund the big screens at the march that attracted more than one million people.”
A supportive Mr Khan said: “Zac is like a younger brother, but that is not why I’m supporting him. I have never before endorsed a politician, but I endorse Zac because he has all the qualities to become an excellent MP. I know his views, I know he will stand up for what he believes in.”
