Some familiar faces were walking the beat on the Cambridge Road estate this week, when The Bill arrived for filming.
The ITV police programme often uses the estate for filming and a crew member said they were likely to be there until the end of the week.
Actress Amiti Dhiri, who plays the role of Detective Constable Grace Desai, was spotted grabbing a coffee between scenes.
One website, chavtowns.co.uk, has mocked the estate for its role as a filming location.
A post on the site said: “The Cambridge estate. Often used as a location during episodes of The Bill when the producers wish to portray a police no go estate or the aftermath of a riot. How art imitates life.”
