A giant mushroom has been spotted nestled in a tree on the bank opposite Ravens Ait island, near Hampton Court Palace.
It is the second giant fungus spotted in the area in under a year, with a mushroom the “size of a football” seen in Kew in August.
From August: Mushroom 'as big as a football' spotted growing out of a Kew pavement
Rebecca Taylor, who spotted it on a day trip, said: “I was climbing a tree and I said ‘There’s a big mushroom here’ to my boyfriend.
“And he looked at it and agreed that it was a big mushroom.
“I thought the Richmond & Twickenham Times would like to see it.”
Reader Claire Bower sent in a picture of the biggest mushroom she had ever seen, in Cambridge Gardens in Twickenham. It can be viewed in the gallery above.
She said: "I watched this one in Cambridge Gardens grow for about a month before some one kicked it."
