A driver and a passenger of a car fled moments after smashing into a Worcester Park garden last night, partly destroying a garden wall, breaking windows and leaving a homeowner in shock.

Metropolitan Police confirmed no arrests have yet been made and the car has been seized.

The police, firefighters from Sutton and Wimbledon and London Ambulance Service were all called at around 10:40pm.

They found the garden wall reduced to a pile of rubble and four windows in the front of the house broken.

A spokesman said: "One woman resident suffered minor shock.

"The driver of the vehicle left the scene before we arrived.

"Damage had been done to the street furniture and garden wall.

"Two fire engines and one fire rescue unit attended, and they were at the scene until 11.53pm."

Resident Michael Glavin said: "A car crashed into a house front garden last night.
