A man has been given a two-year prison sentence after he burgled a Kingston post office with a fake gun.
Danny Carrig, 19, of New Road, Kingston, was found guilty of burglary, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of prohibited ammunition following a trial.
He raided the post office in Park Road belonging to R K Gupta, allegedly alongside Paul Paradise, 35, also of New Road, Kingston, on June 26 last year.
Carrig was sentenced to a total of two years at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday, May 26.
An arrest warrant has been issued for his co-defendant Mr Paradise who failed to turn up to the trial having previously denied the charges.
