A 17-year-old has been charged with stabbing another teenager outside Kingfisher leisure centre on Friday.

The Tolworth teenager, who cannot be named, is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court today, charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and threatening a person with a blade in a public space.

He is also charged with theft of an electronic tag belonging to Kingston Council contractors Serco, and breaching a curfew.

The Kingfisher attack is alleged to have taken place in the grounds of the leisure centre at 4pm on Friday, April 10, as children played nearby.

London's Air Ambulance was called, landing in the Fairfield before the victim, 19-year-old Jordan Beard, was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
