The 34-year-old, the driver of a white BMW M3, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after Hina Shamim, 21, died by the side of Penrhyn Road having suffered critical injuries in the crash on Tuesday night.
Yesterday Miss Shamim's cousin, Tybba Aziz, said: "Hina was an amazing person. She always saw the best in everyone.
"I will never believe she has gone. She loved Kingston - she felt it was her home.
"She is loved by so many and will be dearly missed."
The driver has been bailed until early July, the Metropolitan police said this morning.
Seven other people were injured in the crash, including the driver, and all but one - a four-year-old boy who is in stable condition - have now been discharged from hospital, police said.
Tributes were left to Miss Shamim yesterday
