Archie Monk switches on the lights with Kingston Hospital chairman Sian Bates
Ordinarily the honour of switching on a set of Christmas lights goes to a celebrity or a local dignitary, but at Kingston Hospital this year it was 5-year-old Archie Monk who flipped the switch.
Archie, a patient at the hospital, was accompanied by mum Claire and brother George, as well as hospital bosses Kate Grimes and Sian Bates.
Music was supplied for the event by the Corpus Christi primary school choir and the Surbiton High School saxophone quartet.
