A drunk who threw an ashtray through a pub window, damaged a police van and then spat at an officer while in custody has been banned from five pubs.
David Parsons, 35, was arrested for being drunk and disorderly at the Wellington pub in Kingston Road, New Malden, on March 18.
He had broken a window by hurling an ashtray through it, and on the way to Kingston police station damaged the police van. He then spat at a custody officer while being put into the cells.
Parsons, of Springfield Place, New Malden, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on April 3, where he pleaded guilty to assault, being drunk and disorderly and criminal damage.
He was given a six-month exclusion order banning him from five pubs, the Prince of Wales, the Fountain, the Watchman, which is a former police station, the Wellington and the Peel in Norbiton, soon to close down.
Chief Inspector Gary Taylor said: “People have the right to enjoy a drink without fear of violence and disorder.
“This order is a further example of the work being done to deal with drunken offenders like Parsons.”
