A soccer coach took a leap of faith to raise money for his football club.

Nick Tann, from Chiswick, leapt 200ft from a mobile bungee crane to boost funds for the Windsor Royals U14 team.

The 49-year-old, who works as a tiler for Chiswick-based firm My Plumber, has so far raised £900 after completing the challenge - wearing the club's colours - last Saturday.

Mr Tann, of Oxford Road South, said: "I did the jump to help send the team to Germany on tour next spring.

"As we’re an independent club we don’t receive much in the way of sponsorship so helping kids to develop can be a big financial challenge for parents.

"I heard about the bungee jump and thought it would be a challenge before my 50th birthday and a great way to raise funds for the club."

He thanked his supporters and customers who had sponsored him.

Angela Lyons, owner of My Plumber, said: "I’m not surprised so many Chiswick folk and customers have sponsored him, Nick was incredibly brave on the day and is very popular in the community.

"While watching Nick I entered the raffle, I heard yesterday that I’d won the first prize of £30 which I’ve donated to Nick’s cause."
