A conman who killed his gay lover by battering him over the head with a fire extinguisher in a hotel room has been jailed for life.
Glenn Rycroft, 33, murdered Gareth Macdonald, 30, in a Travelodge at the M4 Heston services in September 2007.
Rycroft, of Clywd, Wales, was today sentenced at the Old Bailey to a minimum of 25 years behind bars. He pleaded guilty yesterday to murdering Mr Macdonald, of Prestatyn, Denbighshire.
