A mother is training to run a marathon in support of her four-year-old epileptic son.

Lisa Gill from Sutton will be running the Brighton marathon in April in support of the Epilepsy Society, a disorder her son Harley suffers from.

To start fundraising, Ms Gill, a member of staff at the Sunrise care home in Banstead, will be holding an event, Leap for Lisa, on February 28 at the care home where Harley will be the guest of honour.

She said: “Tuesday is set to be a really fun afternoon and we hope that as many local people as possible will be able to come along and join us in aid of such an important cause. I am determined to raise as much money as possible for this brilliant charity, which supports people like Harley every day. I am overwhelmed by how supportive everyone at Sunrise of Banstead has been and hope others will help us too to reach the target.”

Residents are welcome to attend the event at the care home on Croydon Lane in Banstead, where there will be tea, cakes and a raffle from 3pm.
