What is wrong with you people in Worcester Park? The LibDems have created a bleak grey desert in Sutton High St, squandered £millions on the Life Centre, lost money in Icesave and will not pay you any attention until the next election.
And you voted for them again!!!!

I agree 100% with you Margaret - why anybody votes for them is one of the great mysteries of life.Locally they waste money year in and year out, and Nationally they are holding back the reforms and cuts needed to get the country back on track after the other loony party (Labour) screwed us

Exactly my thoughts too. Perhaps someone who voted for them can explain the attraction of wobbly logs, grass walls and roofs and High Street obstacles fit for an SAS training course plus the closing of the home for Alzeimers patients. Was it the £50K Olimpric bunting scheme that tipped the vote?

I knocked on doors in Worcester Park and in the main the electorate are a pretty content lot who are not that politically aware. They see there council tax frozen and their rubbish collected and believe all is well in the world.

The turnout wasn't exactly great. 33.48% is very low. I have come to the conclusion that Sutton Voters either don't bother or just vote as they have always done despite the self-evident mistakes of Sutton Council. Perhaps if people actually read up on what is going on in the London Borough Of Sutton, they might change their vote? Otherwise we are doomed. I call it the 'sheep mentality'...I live in Sutton and am horrified at the decisions made on our behalf by Sutton Council. Especially with regards the high-street. That awful dried-up foliage hanging off Wilkinsons Store is an eyesore. People in motability-scooters having accidents in the High-Street. The 'Sutton Life-Centre' is being financially bailed out when we were told that it would be used by other Boroughs far and wide. There are teenagers wandering the streets because youth-group funding and facilities have been cut. Youth-Group premises being sold off to developers. The list goes on.

While we're at it can we offer Cllr Lester Holloway, infamous for his crazy campaign to ban the sale of rag dolls, to Barking?

Why is Michael Pantlin obsessing about me? A couple of articles deep in the news pages last October, five whole months ago, and he's still writing comments about it on completely unrelated subjects every so often. Has he ever heard the phrase "off-topic"? He may need counselling for the bee in his bonnet that is clearly keeping him up at night. I wouldn't want him to suffer this way for another year.

Anyway, I reiterate, in modern Britain there is no place for the golliwog to be on open display. However, frankly I had long forgotten about this issue myself until I read Mr Pantlin's comments about it a couple of months ago, and have seen at least one more before this thread. It's not normal behaviour.

Michael why did you have to mention Lester Holloway? You have given him another opportunity to spout off, although it is hardly likely he has forgotten about the "issue" as it is possibly the only thing he will be remembered for.Lets focus on the central issue that the Lib Dems have destroyed this Borough and will continue to do so unless people wake up and look at the facts surrounding their tenure.Waste waste waste and more waste

Well done Michael Pantlin for reminding the people of Slutton about this ridiculous folly. Keep it up. There will be elections soon enough and people need to remember such things when voting.

Let's hope it doesn't come up again this year in Black History week/month/year then and we can all relax and not worry about Sutton being invaded by Black Activists alerted on the net from all over London. By the way nothing is off topic. If you want to express a thought it's a free country and these boxes are here to use as you wish.

Hi LiberalsOut the answer not surprisingly is so that people with short memories may take it into account when his seat comes up for relection. Of course if they support his desired ban he will increase his majority and deserve to should that be the case.

Not again how is it that local residents can let the Liberals in again how much more evidence do they need to see that they are not fit for purpose. I feel sorry for the Conservative candidate Simon Densley but a low turnout inspite of more activity than i have seen for a long time to get people out to vote took place in my road.
