Strikes scheduled to take place this week are due to make travelling difficult for commuters once again.

Drivers on the Central line of London Underground are due to walk out at 9pm on Tuesday, February 21, with no service at all on the Central line on Wednesday, February 22.

This Tube walkout will impact the Waterloo & City line, which uses the same pool of drivers and so will also have no service. Other lines are expected to be far busier during the industrial action.

The strike is part of the ongoing dispute over the removal of eight drivers to different depots.

Southern rail is also facing strike action on Wednesday, as conductors prepare to walk out for 24 hours after talks between RMT and the rail network once again collapsed.

Although Southern are hoping to continue running many trains as normal, there will be no service between Leatherhead and Guildford or Clapham Junction and Milton Keynes via Kensington Olympia / Watford Junction.

Some trains between London Bridge and Brighton, Eastbourne or Littlehampton will not run.

Meanwhile, it was announced this morning, February 20, that Night Tube drivers will be balloted for strike action in a disupte over pay and jobs.

A stike had been scheduled on the Night Tube for the start of this month over safety and job cuts, but was called off after a deal was struck between the RMT, the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association and Transport for London.
