Burglars smashed a rear patio window of a house in a failed break-in attempt, before ‘leaving empty-handed’.

Surrey Police officers were called to a house in Kingston Road, Ewell after the homeowner’s sensor CCTV alerted them to people in the garden at about 3pm yesterday (Wednesday, February 15).

The offenders had left the property by the time police arrived, three minutes after the call was made.

Officers checked the property and discovered that the rear patio window had been smashed and the house searched.

The burglars left empty-handed, police believe.

Surrey Police believe a silver Vauxhall Astra, seen near the house at the time, may have been linked to the crime.

The force has also released descriptions of the three suspects.

The first suspect is described as a white man, in his late teens to early 20s, of medium build, about six foot tall, with dark hair and sideburns. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and blue trainers with white soles.

The second suspect is described as a white man in his late teens, of slim-ish build, about five foot nine inches or five foot ten inches, He was wearing a distinctive black jacket with a grey area on the front left-side quarter and left arm, and black trousers and brown shoes.

The third suspect is described as a white man in his late teens to early 20s. He was wearing black trousers and black trainers with a white sole, and had a black scarf or snood covering his face.
