Motorcycle thieves were caught on camera by a member of the public, shortly before the bike was dumped.

The motorcycle, a blue Yamaha WR125, was stolen from Poole Road, West Ewell at about 2.05pm on Sunday, November 27. Parts of the lock were left at the scene.

The bike was later found by a member of the public at 4pm the same day.

In between the theft of the bike and it being dumped, a member of the public took photos of three offenders with the stolen bike.

PC Laura Hardie said it was the latest of several motorbike thefts in the borough this year.

She said: “I am appealing for anybody who has information which could help our investigation.”

“There have been numerous thefts of motorbikes and mopeds over the past year in the borough and these are more than just an inconvenience to their owners, the way they are ridden can be extremely dangerous to pedestrians and other road users, and with your help we can stop the offenders.”
