Horse lovers in Walton-on-the-Hill had twin reasons to celebrate last month.

Wildwoods Riding Centre celebrated its 40th anniversary on Saturday, September 24, while the centre’s matriarch Pamela Towill – affectionately known as “Mrs T” – turned 90 two days later.
More than 100 people enjoyed musical riding displays, birds of prey demonstrations and horses navigating obstacle courses during the open day, before dancing the night away at Mrs T’s birthday after-party.
Her daughter Anthea Chambers set up the yard in Ebbisham Lane after leaving school in 1971.
Since then the centre has grown and earlier this year became accredited by the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) for its work towards inclusivity.

Birthday girl Pamela Towill, 90, celebrated the occasion by dancing to Elvis Presley’s Good Luck Charm.
“It was a lovely evening – very memorable,” she said. “The music was great.”
