Surrey Police have released further images of people they wish to speak to in connection with a drunken bottle-throwing brawl at the Epsom Derby.

A police officer's tooth was knocked out during the violent melee near the entertainment stage set up on the hill.

Riot police clashed with bottle-throwing racegoers as terrified bystanders sprinted away from those involved in the brawl after the 236th Derby on Saturday, June 4.

Officers arrested 11 people for various offences including GBH, robbery and ABH at the world famous flat race. They are currently on bail until dates between October 4 and November 9 pending further enquiries.

This figure is more than the number of arrests made by Surrey Police – which dispatches several hundred officers to the Derby every year – in 2015 (five) and 2014 (also five) combined.

Detective Sergeant Errol Chetty, said: “Behaviour like this will not be tolerated and we are carrying out an extensive investigation to bring those responsible for the violence that afternoon to justice.”
