A teenage boy was cut free from a car before being taken to hospital after two cars crashed near Leatherhead last night (Tuesday, August 16).

The passenger was said to be a 14-year-old boy suffering neck pain after the crash at the roundabout between The Ridgeway and Lower Road, Fetcham just after 11pm.

Firefighters from Epsom and Painshill fire stations had to cut the roof off the car in order to rescue the stricken teenager.

Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) later rushed him to East Surrey Hospital in an ambulance.

Two other people were treated for minor injuries at the scene but not taken to hospital. A SECAmb spokesman described them as “conscious and breathing”.
