Southern Rail has cancelled services this morning because of “graffiti”.
The 7.03am train from Wallington did not run after it was vandalised overnight.
The 8.09am service from Streatham Common to Victoria was also cancelled for the second day in a row for the same reason.
Fed up commuters joked on social media that anti-Southern phrases had been scrawled on carriages, while others pondered how much graffiti could cause an entire train to be cancelled.
One said: “Does it say 'Charlie Horton - resign'" referring to the troubled rail company’s managing director.
Three weeks ago Southern launched an "emergency timetable" and cancelled 341 trains a day to combat chronic lateness and staffing issues.
