A friend of a bereaved husband from Tadworth has paid tribute to a "good friend" after a body was found in Dorking following a police search.

From yesterday: Police search for missing Tadworth man Lee Taylor after wife's unexpected death

Lee Taylor, 48, was reported missing after family members dropped him off at his home in Headley Drive, Tadworth, at about 8pm on Saturday, April 23 following the unexpected death of his wife earlier that day.

Surrey Police launched a search, and confirmed that a body was found in Dorking at about 11.25pm last night.

Officers had previously confirmed that they had found Mr Taylor’s car – a silver Peugeot 407 – in a car park in Dorking.

It was believed that Mr Taylor left his house at 7am on Sunday, April 24.

A friend of Mr Taylor, who did not wish to be named, said: “He was a very good friend and a good man.

“There are some of his family who do not know yet, so I wouldn’t like to say anything more.”

Mr Taylor's daughter Lauren posted a photo of her father on Facebook in tribute.

She also wrote: "RIP dad. [I'm] going to miss you so much."

One of Mr Taylor’s neighbours in Headley Drive said she believed that his wife, Carole, had died from a stroke.

A Surrey Police spokesman said: "A body, believed to be that of missing Tadworth man Lee Taylor, has been found in the Dorking area.

"The body was found around 11.25pm last night, April 24, during a search for the missing 48-year-old.

"Although formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of Mr Taylor has been informed.

"Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time."
