What came first: the chicken or the banter?
Well, one Epsom restaurant offers both at the same time, according to its new name.
The restaurant, formerly known as Roosters, has been re-hatched as Chicken and Banter and some have been left wondering whether the owners aren’t clucking mad.
Mohammad Mugheez, 31, has been manager at Chicken and Banter for four months and said changing the restaurant’s name three months ago has been good for business.
He said: “It is a new, innovative name and people like it and we like our new name.
“It’s a bit unusual for a chicken shop, and it’s been good for business so far.”
But what do chicken fans really think?

The Epsom Guardian offered TV presenter Thomas Marriott a hypothetical choice between eating at Chicken and Banter and a more traditionally-named chicken shop – Dallas Fried Chicken, for example.
Mr Marriott from Ashtead said: “I think, like most people, they’d be inclined to give Chicken and Bantz a go just to say they had been there.
“It’s a bit naff, but fun – sure to be mumbled around local schools and pubs.
“I hope they’re not just here to wing it.”
Other chicken connoisseurs are not quite so convinced.
Even Epsom's fried chicken shops are middle class. Chicken and Banter 😭 pic.twitter.com/Vvk0kovrFL

Jay Lakhani said: “Everyone is finding it very amusing and can't quite believe that it's not a joke.
“I went there the other day and to my disappointment there was absolutely no banter.”
There is a restaurant in Epsom called "Chicken and Banter". I think we can all die happy
