Young dressmakers from an Epsom primary school beat budding artists from across the country to scoop a national award.
Five-year-old pupils from St Christopher’s School in Downs Road, Epsom, created a beautiful technicolour dress from handmade felt for a competition held by the Independent Schools Association.
Their entry won the Independent Schools Association’s Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage One category in the textiles section at a national exhibition at the Daventry Court Hotel in Northamptonshire on Saturday, November 14.
The children fashioned the dress - called the Princess Dress after a book by the same name - by rubbing Merino wool in a range of colours.
