A man who threatened and robbed three teenage boys in a Ewell public park is sought by Surrey Police, who issued an appeal for witnesses today.

At around 6pm on Sunday, August 23 a group of ten teenage boys in Gibraltar recreation ground were approached by a man walking three dogs, who tried to take one of the boys’ bicycles.

The victim resisted and the suspect then threatened to use his dogs to attack the boys unless they handed over their mobile phones, stealing iPhones from three of the victims.

The suspect is described as a man of mixed heritage, around 19-years-old and around 5ft 6ins tall.

He is of slim build, with dark hair shaved very short and he spoke with a deep Middle Eastern accent.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a blue Nike Air tracksuit and blue Nike Air Max trainers, had a black Muddy Fox mountain bike and was walking two Husky dogs and an Alsatian.

Detective Constable Kirsty Webb said: "This was a nasty incident in which a cowardly offender has intimidated a group of teenagers who were simply minding their own business in the park.

"The incident took place in broad daylight in a busy area so I would like to hear from anyone who was in Gibraltar recreation ground on Sunday evening.

"Given the distinctive appearance of the man and the detailed description we have of him I feel certain that someone will know who he is.

"I would urge them to contact us as soon as possible so we can bring him to justice."

Anyone who witnessed the robbery or with any information on the incident should call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference 45150075556, or call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
