A shopper was left upset and frightened after a stranger exposed himself to her while she was having a cigarette.

The victim was in the smoking area of the Waitrose in Banstead High Street at 12.20pm on Thursday, July 16 when the man approached.

After indecently exposing himself, the suspect simply began laughing and walked away, leaving the woman extremely upset and shaken.

She immediately reported the incident to supermarket staff.

The suspect is described as Asian, 50 to 55 years, 5ft 8ins tall and bald, and wearing a white shirt, grey chinos and smart black shoes. He was carrying a medium-sized suitcase and a black bag.

PC Carmen Lambert-Singer of Surrey Police, who is investigating the incident, said: "The woman was left really frightened as a result of this incident and I am hoping that releasing the CCTV image will encourage further witnesses and anyone with any other information to come forward and help me progress this investigation."
