Could this be Epsom’s oldest cat?

Tortoiseshell feline Jerry, who lives on Dirdene Gardens, recently celebrated her 22nd year of life which makes her an impressive 105 in human years.

The elderly cat shares her name with model and actress Jerry Hall, a strong female figure who her owners hoped would inspire her.

She was adopted from the Cats Protection League, a feline welfare charity, by the family as a kitten in 1994 alongside a black tabby who died two years ago leaving Jerry on her own.

Her companion’s death has left the kitty craving attention.

She now shares a home with a Russian Bobcat and unfortunately they are not the best of friends.

Jerry’s owners were overjoyed when their family cat survived to her 22nd birthday and are surprised she’s still going strong.

"She just keeps on going" said Anthony Roberts, who co-owns Jerry with his sister, Lauren Roberts and mother Sheena Campbell, pictured below.

Your Local Guardian:

"The vet has said she wouldn’t make it another year a couple of times, but they’ve been wrong."

"When we introduced them, Jerry used to bully the Russian cat but now it’s the other way round," said Mr Roberts.

While she doesn’t enjoy the company of her feline housemate, Jerry does enjoy dining on suppers of fish and curling up on the black leather sofa.

Jerry’s birthday is on April 25 and she shares it with Miss Roberts, making the anniversary a family affair where Lauren is treated to a cake and Jerry to a bowl of milk and some sea bream.
