Car passengers threw items out of the window at three family members walking along the road earlier this month.

A pedestrian in his 40s was left with a swollen arm and his female relatives in their 30s also suffered injuries in Dorking Road, Tadworth.

One woman had a bruised torso and the other had to have stitches to treat a cut on her eye following the incident at 11pm on Sunday, July 5.

It is believed that the car contained several passengers and the items were thrown out as they drove past down the road.

Investigating officer David Emans said: "To establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident we need to speak with anyone who witnessed a car being driven in suspicious circumstances in this area around the time the three pedestrians were injured.

"It may be that other people have experienced a similar ordeal and have not reported this to police, I would urge them to do so. I would also ask anyone the passengers may have told about the events that night to make contact with officers."

Anyone who can assist with the investigation is urged to contact Surrey Police quoting reference 45150057944. Information can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
