Two muggers in puffa jackets snatched a mobile phone during a robbery in a park on Saturday.

The thieves approached a group of two men and two women in the park area of Gatley Avenue, Ewell, at about 10.30pm.

The women walked off just before one of the muggers, with a deep voice and "harsh" accent, asked the men to hand over their possessions.

This stocky man and his smaller accomplice, who both had their hoods up, stole a mobile phone.

The man described as stocky was about 5ft 10ins and wore Nike gloves, while the other man was about 5ft 8ins.

Detective Constable Kirsty Webb said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time to let us know if you saw anybody matching the descriptions either before or after the incident."
