Warnings have been sent to parents after a man is alleged to have flashed at a 10-year-old girl as she walked to school yesterday.

Police are searching for a suspect in his 40s after reports of a "suspicious incident" on the B284 near Lynwood Road in Epsom.

The white man, of medium height and build, has short blonde or light brown hair. He was wearing a jacket, a plain cream T-shirt and dark baggy trousers.

Surrey police said: "Police are carrying out a number of enquiries and there will be additional officers on patrol in the area at school times to provide a visible and reassuring presence."

St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, in Rosebank, West Street, Epsom, sent a police warning to parents via ParentMail, the school's electronic communications system, today.

An employee at St Joseph’s said other schools in Epsom had also shared the information with their parents. She said the student involved in the alleged incident was not from St Joseph's.

Anyone with information should call Surrey police on 101, quoting incident reference number P15101239.
