Children will have the chance to learn about the history and culture of the Mayan people next month.
Bourne Hall Museum Kids Club will take a look at the lives of Mayan people through their stories and myths.
The museum club says: "Discover the Mayan people and culture, an advanced people from Central America whose civilization lasted from 2000BC to the 16th century.
"Famous for their knowledge of mathematics, astronomy and art, they may have been the first to use telescopes and draw star maps showing the way to their gods through the night sky.
"They built pyramidal temples and believed in three planes of existence: the earth, the heavens and the underworld, all of which had their own gods.
"They had a way of writing like Egyptian hieroglyphics with over 1,000 images."
